Possible beam operating states.

    There is an error with the Gun or EHT and the beam cannot be used.

  • OFF

    EHT is off.

  • TURNING_ON

    The EHT (and gun for C-SEM) is turning on.

    Gun is on.

  • GOING_TO_STANDBY

    The beam is going into the standby state.

  • STANDBY

    Not all devices support this mode.

  • TURNING_OFF

EHT is off. On FE-SEMs, the gun may be on, gun interfaces must be checked to discover gun state. On C-SEMs the EHT and gun are off, and there is no current on the filament.

TURNING_ON class-attribute instance-attribute #

TURNING_ON = 4

The EHT (and gun for C-SEM) is turning on.

ON class-attribute instance-attribute #

ON = 5

Gun is on. Filament (if it exists) has full current. EHT is on. The beam can be used.

GOING_TO_STANDBY class-attribute instance-attribute #

GOING_TO_STANDBY = 6

The beam is going into the standby state.

STANDBY class-attribute instance-attribute #

STANDBY = 7

Not all devices support this mode. This represents an intermediate state. The EVO and the FIB have standby states.
